Hand-built stone and brick retaining and feature walls.
About Garden Walls
A well-built garden wall is both structure and sculpture — holding back soil on sloping plots, defining terraced levels, framing planting beds, or simply adding a beautiful vertical element to your garden. We build in natural stone, brick and reconstituted stone, with proper foundations, drainage and copings so your wall stands plumb and true for generations, not just seasons.
Is It Right For You?
You have a sloping garden that needs levelling or terracing.
You want to define raised beds, borders or seating areas.
You need a retaining wall to hold back soil or create level ground.
You'd like a feature wall to add vertical interest and structure.
You want a boundary wall built to last, not just to fill a gap.

FAQs
Foundations depend on wall height and soil, but we typically pour a concrete trench at least 300mm deep and twice the wall's width. We never lay walls directly on topsoil.
Yes — absolutely. We install land drains and weep holes behind every retaining wall to relieve water pressure, which is the single most common cause of wall failure.
Walls over 1m high (retaining) or 2m high (boundary) may require engineering and planning consideration. We advise on this during your free site survey.
Pricing depends on height, length, material and whether it's retaining or freestanding. As a guide, a standard brick or stone wall starts from around £200–£350 per m². We give you a free, itemised quotation after surveying the site.
A typical 10m garden wall takes 4–7 days including foundations, build and pointing. Taller retaining walls or complex stone work take longer. We'll include a clear timeframe in your quote.
Little is needed. Check the mortar joints every few years and keep soil or planting away from the base of freestanding walls. Rendered walls may need repainting every 5–7 years. We advise on any specific care for your material at handover.
